SogaPaper
What is SogaPaper
SogaPaper is an AI-powered reading companion for complex content, including research papers, technical articles, long-form documents, and PDFs.
It works alongside the content users are already reading and helps them understand it faster through:
- Passage-level summaries for a quick overview of the entire document
- Paragraph-level explanations and translations directly on the page
- Context-aware Q&A based on the document or selected text
- Multilingual support across summaries, translations, and Q&A
- In-browser PDF analysis, including academic papers such as arXiv
SogaPaper is designed for researchers, students, and professionals who frequently work with dense or foreign-language materials.
Current Status
SogaPaper is currently under active development.
The core system is functional, including a working Chrome extension, backend service, and web interface.
Key features already implemented include document analysis, real-time interaction between client and backend, per-user language preferences, content caching, and support for both web pages and PDFs.
Future plans include native applications for macOS, Windows, Android, and iOS, additional authentication options, and subscription-based access.
How It Is Delivered
SogaPaper is delivered primarily as:
- Chrome Extension: A browser extension that analyzes the current web page or PDF and displays AI-generated summaries, translations, and Q&A directly alongside the content.
- Cloud Backend: A hosted service that handles document processing, AI inference, and user preferences.
Additional cross-platform applications are planned to extend the same reading experience beyond the browser.
Who Operates It
SogaPaper is developed and operated by an independent developer as a software-based information service.
The project is designed to be operated by a single organization, which maintains the backend infrastructure, application distribution, and user data policies.
